JoAnne Levendusky, 71, of Waterloo died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at her home.

She was born May 8, 1936 near Hazleton, daughter of Leo and Anna Phillips Levendusky.

She graduated from Hazleton High School, attended Gates College University of Northern Iowa and Hawkeye Institute of Technology. She lived in New York City for awhile then moved to Waterloo, where she was employed with Iowa Securities, and then Covenant Medical Center for almost 35 years. JoAnne loved to travel to Alaska and the mountains out west. She also was a strong believer in animal rights and the prevention of abuse against animals.

Survivors include her sister Rosemary Levendusky of Waterloo; four brothers: Francis (Maria) of Independence, Don (Phyllis) of Mitchell, James (Janet) of Mt. Home, Ark., and Johnny of Waterloo; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be 4:00 p.m. rosary and a 7:00 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be made to the family.
