NEVA E. MILLER, 91, died of natural causes at her home in Cedar Falls, on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. She was born June 28, 1915 in Shell Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Paul and Libbie (Burns) Miller.

Neva married Lloyd W. “Bing” Miller on January 31, 1942 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1982.

Neva was a 1933 graduate of Shell Rock High School and received her teaching certificate from Iowa Normal School (UNI). She was a teacher at several country schools near Shell Rock and later was the secretary for twenty-three years at Main St. Elementary School and Orchard Hill Elementary School in Cedar Falls, retiring in 1985. Neva was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Ruth Circle in Cedar Falls, Happy Thought Rebekah Lodge 256, Past Noble Grands, and Sartori Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Monica (Steve) Murphy, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her son, Dr. Gary (Mary) Miller, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Taylor, Colin and Natalie Murphy, and Kirk, Kyle, Erik and Alex Miller; three great-grandchildren: Cody Colin Murphy, Nadia NevaLee Murphy and Vivianna Rose Murphy, and a sister, Ava Miller Burke of Cedar Falls.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three sisters: Lora Miller, Lila Olson and Etta Lobdell, and three brothers, Merle, Lester and Harland Miller.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, January 22, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—8:00 pm Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 5:00 pm Happy Thought Rebekah Lodge service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church Music Program, Cedar Falls or Happy Thought Rebekah Lodge 256.
