Dale G. Shepard, 88, of Waterloo, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 3, 1918 in Waverly son of George and Rita Padget Shepard.

He married Mary Louise Chandler June 15, 1942, in Nashua. She died July 10 2001. He married Kathryn Myers December 14, 2001 in Placerville CA.

Mr. Shepard farmed for 14 years in the Plainfield area and then was employed with Grosse Steel in Cedar Falls for 21 years retiring in 1981. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary (Teresa) Shepard of Peosta; Joel (Cindie) Shepard of Waterloo; a daughter Ann Shepard of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren: Lindsay Shepard, Nick Shepard, Mario Shepard, Amanda Murty, Daniel Anderson, and Sean Anderson; four step-daughters: Barbara Grandfield of Vancouver, WA, Jane Shannon, and Donna (Ronald) Fuller, both of Placerville, CA and Delores (Raymond) Rick of Henderson, NV; 11 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Don (Nelda) Shepard of Nashua and a sister, Venette (Harold) Broderson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother Claude Bud Shepard.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ansgars Lutheran Church with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua, where full military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6792. Public visitation will be from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the church.
