WATERLOO - Dale M. Simpson, 86, of Bartels Lutheran Home and formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at the Bartels Home of natural causes.

He was born May 9, 1912, in Galt, son of Thomas and Harriet Clark Simpson. He married Marian Lura Barron on Nov. 6, 1936, in Nashua. She died June 23, 1995.

Mr. Simpson owned the Century Service Station on East Fifth Street until retiring in 1976. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was past master of Martin Lodge No. 624 A.F. & A.M. and past president of Waterloo High Twelve Club.

Survived by two daughters, Shirley Berry of Cedar Falls and Marlys Simpson of Stavanger, Norway; and a son, Thomas of Athens, Ga.

Preceded in death by four brothers: Leo, Lester, Glen and Ivan; and three sisters, Violet Schppler*, Anna Meeker and Doris Huen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where there will be a 7 p.m. public Masonic service by Martin Lodge No. 624 A.F. & A.M.
