WATERLOO - Orene Orum, 69, of 1109 Baltimore St., formerly of Lime Springs, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Covenant Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 30, 1929, in Lime Springs, daughter of Charles and Geneva Anderson Garrison. She married Manley Orum in 1950 in Lime Springs. They were later divorced.

Mrs. Orum attended Upper Iowa University, Fayette. She had taught school, worked as a caregiver and senior companion for many years and was currently employed by Hawkeye Valley Agency on Aging in their Senior Companion Program.

Survived by a daughter, Rebecca Rossin of Waterloo; a son, Christopher of Waterloo; three grandchildren; a sister, Helen Kelly of Murrieta, Calif.; and a brother, Charles Peter Garrison of Edwardsville, Ill.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, both in Lime Springs. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
