Shirley G. Stickfort, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, February 26, 2007, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born February 6, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Rex and Grace (Rudolph) Rivers.

Shirley married Jacob “Jakie” Stickfort on May 28, 1949 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2005. Shirley was a graduate of Waterloo East High School and was a secretary at Rankins Manufacturing Company in Cedar Falls. She also worked at the Cardinal Grocery Store and American Color Imaging, both in Cedar Falls. Shirley was a member of Living Water Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Falls, where she participated in a Bible Study group.

Survivors include her son, Larry Stickfort of Vinton, Iowa; three daughters, Judy (Kirk) Pierce, Cindy (James) Curd, and Grace Stickfort, all of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Dan “Buck” (Misti McDermott) Davis, Amy (David Goodwin) Davis, Duke (Helica Guerrero) Plumley and Patrick Plumley, and four great grandchildren, Dilyn McDermott, Danny Davis III, and Michael and Noah Stickfort.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Living Water Church of the Nazarene, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family, who will forward to the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.
