WATERLOO — Kenneth I. Peiffer, 84, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 14, 1927, in Clear Creek Township, Keokuk County, son of Edmond and Matilda Sieren Peiffer. He married Barbara J. Euren Aug. 3, 1954, in Harper.

He farmed and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Peiffer was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Kim (Jim) Reisinger of Mason City and Holly (John) Grandin of State Center; a son, Dana (Kathy) of Reinbeck; seven grandchildren, Scott (Monica) Reisinger, John (Brandy) Reisinger, Kelly (Jon) Moeller, Corey Hofius, Chris Peiffer, Robert (Laura) Grandin and Lynnae (Kyle) Penney; eight great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Richard (Myra) of South English, Jerome (Vivian) of Derby, Kan., and Delbert (Phyllis) of Newton.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Howard, and John in infancy; and two sisters, Anna Kathryn and Jeanette.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with inurnment at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: May be directed to Camp Courageous, Monticello, IA or Cedar Valley Hospice in lieu of flowers.
