WATERLOO, IOWA — Mark R. Johnston, 54, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 9, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born December 25, 1957, in Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Richard and Mayzie Lubbert Johnston.

Mr. Johnston worked in the construction trade all his life, including Young Plumbing and Heating and Steve Schmitt Masonry.

Survived by a daughter, Rachael (Justin) Boose of Waterloo; two granddaughters, Amiah and Alana; his mother, Mayzie (Ervin) Seehase of Waterloo; three brothers: Rick (Kim) of Alden, and Steven (Melva) and Douglas, all of Waterloo; four sisters: Brenda (Kirk) Miller of Dallas, Ore., Deborah Johnston of Waterloo, and Pamela (Jerry) Beier and Susan (Marty) Johnston Woodward, all of Oelwein; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog, Lily.

Preceded in death by his father.

Family-directed memorial services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Valley Community Church. Public visitation will be held after the service.

He was a loving father to Emily, Bradley and Mark Drahos.
