CEDAR FALLS, IOWA — Marian L. Stiner, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Western Home Windhaven Assisted Living Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born March 23, 1933, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Edith Ham Megonigle. She married Jack E. Stiner on Sept. 14, 1968, at First United Methodist Church, Independence. He preceded her in death October 20, 2009.

Mrs. Stiner graduated from Independence High School and worked for 30 years at AT&T/Northwestern Bell, retiring in September 1981. She was a member and volunteer at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls.

Marian is survived by a stepdaughter, Jean ("Skip Henry") Spang of Vancouver, Wash.; two step-grandchildren, Martha and Jay Spang; a brother, Doug Megonigle of Independence; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a sister, Mina Hensley; a brother, Sam Megonigle, and a nephew, Doug Stiner.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Prairie Lakes Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Prairie Lakes Church.
