WATERLOO — Eleanor Nottger, 90, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 4, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 14, 1921, in Waterloo, daughter of James and Estella Saunders Roblin. She married Richard M. Nottger in 1949 in Waterloo. They later divorced.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1939, and received a two-year degree from Gates Business College. For many years she was the secretary at Westfield Lumber Co., then at West High School until going to work at the National Bank of Waterloo, where she retired. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survived by two sons, Jim (Denise) of Vinton and Steve (Jennie) of Hudson; a daughter, Carol (Doug) VanFleet of Hudson; three grandchildren, Eric (Janelle) Nottger, Elizabeth (fiancé Jerry Zieser) Nottger and Ryan (Angela) Nottger; a stepgrandson, Zach VanFleet; and four great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes, her body has been donated to University of Iowa Anatomy Department. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or Care Initiative Hospice.

Eleanor enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, bird feeding, collecting and designing driftwood arrangements, and was a gourmet cook. But, she especially loved camping with her family and friends along the Cedar in Janesville.
