CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Nicole Ann Whisler Cox, 30, of Stanwood, formerly of Centerville and Cedar Falls, died Friday, June 1, 2012, in Anamosa.

She was born June 12, 1981, in Des Moines, daughter of Jerry and Cathy Bozwell Whisler. She married Ryan Cox on July 31, 2010.

Mrs. Whisler graduated from Centerville High School in 2000; graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, with a bachelor's degree in psychology; and in 2006 earned a master's degree in education in K-12 school counseling. She was employed at Strawberry Hill Elementary School, Anamosa, as an elementary school counselor.

Nicole is survived by her husband; a son, Kiptyn of Anamosa; her parents of Centerville; a brother, Mason (Taren) Whisler of Centerville; her grandparents, Robert and Barbara Bozwell of Centerville; a father-in-law, Russ Cox of Readlyn; and a mother-in-law, Carma (Bob) Hoskyn of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don and Leora Whisler.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, at Centerville High School Simon Estes Auditorium, where visitation will be held today, with family present 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. Thomas Funeral Home, Centerville, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be given to her son's college fund, "Kiptyn Cox Collegiate Fund," which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, 23548 Highway 5, P.O. Box 125, Centerville 52544.
