Dorothy S. Horton, 89, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Saturday, August 18, 2012.

Dorothy Sybil Green was born November 16, 1922, in Settler Providence, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of George and Dorothy Swift Green. She graduated from high school and junior college in Long Beach, CA.

Dorothy married Glenn Earl Horton, Jr. on August 10, 1944 in Big Spring, TX. Glenn died February 22, 1983. Dorothy was a long time and active member of Trinity Episcopal Parish, a member of St. Ellen’s and Altar Guild and volunteer in the office. She enjoyed golf, reading, gardening, and walking her dog. She and Glenn were Iowa Hawkeye fans and season ticket holders for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her son Geoffrey (Barb) Horton of Florissant, MO; daughter Cindy (Bill) Kline of Waterloo, 7 grandchildren: granddaughter Jennifer (Carson) Coffman; granddaughter Sarah (Ben) Moore; granddaughter Laurie Horton; grandson David (Amanda) Kline; granddaughter Kristin Kline; grandson Alex Kline; and step grandson Tyler (Kimberly) Stein; and also 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David Horton, two sisters and one brother.

Memorial Service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Parish, 4535 Kimball Ave. in Waterloo. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home. Inurnment at Garden of Memories Cemetery
