WATERLOO — William F. “Bill” Shock, 69, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Cresco, son of Charles and Mary Samec Shock. He married Sharon
Kay Manross on Oct. 24, 1970, at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Shock worked at John Deere Waterloo Works for 15 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Kimerly (Jon) Metcalf of Cedar Falls; a son, William N. Shock of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Nicole Jolie and Tamara LaVonne; a sister, Shirley (Dan) Henslee of Cleburne, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Michael.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and the Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.
