WATERLOO, IOWA - Ione L. Walker, 90, of Waterloo, formerly of Rochester, Minnesota, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born September 23, 1921, in Mantorville, Minnesota, the daughter of Karl and Emma Peterson Kujath. She married John A. Walker on April 27, 1943, in Kasson, Minnesota.

Mrs. Walker graduated from Rochester High School in 1938 and was a domestic engineer in her own home. She was a member of St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Reimer of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and Sheryl (Michael) Sires of Shell Rock; a son, Craig of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Reimer, Rachel Reimer, Jason (Kathryn) Reimer, Amy (Derek) Kramer, Adam (Ashley) Sires, John A. Walker IV and Jered Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Jordan Kramer.

Ione was preceded in death by a son, John III; and three sisters, Carol Jean Summerville, Pauline Federici and Joan Eifert.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Ill. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Hope Lodge, Rochester, and Cedar Valley Hospice.
