CEDAR FALLS — Dean H. Cox, 47, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Oelwein.

He was born Nov. 21, 1964, in Iowa City, son of Ronald J. Cox and Mary Deann Blake Downs.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Cox earned his GED certificate from Hawkeye Technical College.

Survived by his long-term companion, Beth Christman; four daughters, Tabitha and Sabrina, both at home, and Casey and Katie; three sons, Michael, Dylan and Kyle; four grandchildren; his mother of Waterloo; a sister, Dana Katz of Waterloo; and a brother, Jeff Smith of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with inurnment in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by cremation.
