WATERLOO — Emma J. “June” Schatzle, 95, of Tama, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 at Sunny Hill Care Center, Tama.

She was born June 13, 1917, in Nashua, Butler County, daughter of Ernest and Hazel M. Barr Padget. She married George R. Wright on Nov. 25, 1934, in Charles City. He died in January 1982. She married Donald P. Schatzle on Feb. 11, 1984. He died Nov. 4, 2008.

Mrs. Schatzle was a homemaker and also worked in the Waterloo West High School cafeteria for 13 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church and the Church Women’s group.

Survived by two sons, Richard R. (Karolyn) Wright of Toledo and Stephen L. (Peggy) Wright of Buena Vista, Colo.; three stepsons, Doug (Colleen) Schatzle of Waterloo and Kevin (Cheryl) and Kirk Schatzle, both of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death b a stepdaughter-in-law, Debra Schatzle; two brothers, William “Bill” and Bernard Padget; and a sister, Geraldine Petersen.

Graveside services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel.

Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1149 Hammond Ave., Waterloo 50702.

June enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She was fond of playing cards and other table games at family gatherings and with friends.
