CEDAR FALLS — Genevieve Sampson, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Cedar Falls Health Care Center of complications of congestive heart failure.

She was born April 8, 1918, in Waterloo, daughter of Peter George and Irene Regina Conrad Hoffman. She married Charles W. Sampson May 18, 1946, in Waterloo. He died Feb. 16, 2005.

She was a homemaker.

Survived by a daughter, Deborah (Kenneth) Friend of Cedar Falls; a grandson, Bradley Friend of Cedar Falls; a granddaughter, Heidi Friend of Cedar Falls; three great-grandchildren, Haley, Isaac and Ava; and a sister, Lois Bute.

Preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Rosalia Hoffman; a brother, Paul Hoffman; and two sisters, Helen Hoffman and Mildred Levis.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, with a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary. Visitation will also be held for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
