LA PORTE CITY — Ruth A. Hospodarsky, 91, of Washington, Utah, formerly of La Porte City, died Sunday, July 29, at her daughter’s home in Utah.

She was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Knox County, Neb., daughter of Elmer and Bertha Schultz Haskin. She married Edwin Luther Hospodarsky on Oct. 24, 1940. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hospodarsky and her husband farmed for 32 years.

Survived by three sons: Donald (Theresa) of Washington, Ralph (Cheryl) of Indianapolis and James (Cynthia) of Conyers, Ga.; a daughter, Nancy of Washington; and a brother, Raymond “Pete” Haskin of Elgin, Neb.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Hospodarsky.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at La Porte City Funeral Service, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in West View Cemetery.

Ruth spent the first years of her life on a farm in Knox County, Neb., growing up during the Dust Bowl years. She also had lived in Iowa City for 14 years and in Creighton, Neb., for 13 years.
