CEDAR FALLS — Keith F. Young, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

He was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Algona, son of Loyal S. and Fern Andrews Young. He married Marilyn Nystuen on Aug. 6, 1950, in Kensett.

Mr. Young graduated from Algona High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State Teachers College, now the University of Northern Iowa. He taught science and coached wrestling in Blue Earth, Minn.; physical education and wrestling in Osage; and then driver’s education and wrestling at Cedar Falls High School, retiring in 1990. He was a wrestling referee for high school and NCAA Divisions I and II, and was inducted into the U.S. Wrestling Federation Hall of Fame in 1972. He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Scott (Marilyn D.) of Juneau, Alaska, Mark (Gina) of St. Paul, Minn., and Randy (Mary) of Fairbanks, Alaska; two daughters, Kim (Jim) Young-Kent of Dike and Deb (Michael) Sundin of Litchfield, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Jean Godden; a brother, Dixon; and an infant daughter, Sue Ann Young.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, with family present from 5 to 8 p.m., and for one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
