WATERLOO — David William Hughes, 41, of Redding, Calif., formerly of Waterloo and Delhi, died in Redding on Friday, July 20, 2012 from heart complications.

He was born Dec. 20, 1970, in Waterloo, son of Bill and Bonnie Sheldahl Hughes.

Mr. Hughes graduated from Columbus High School in 1989 and attended Holy Cross College, South Bend, Ind. He worked in restaurants in Waterloo and Des Moines, and in home improvements in Redding.

Survived by his parents of Delhi; a brother, Brian (Ann) of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Lori Kelly of Boston.

Preceded in death by a brother, Craig

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with inurnment following cremation in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
