WATERLOO — Cleon E. Risse, 87, of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Hazleton, daughter of William and Stella Skeen Merrill Wolfe. She married Leon P. Risse on Sept. 5, 1955, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 19, 1989.

Mrs. Risse graduated from Independence High School and was employed in the office of Rath Packing Co. for 14 years.

Survived by a son, Timothy L. (Lesia) of Huffman, Texas; a daughter, Lynette L. Risse of Waterloo; two granddaughters, Leah Risse of Dallas and Victoria (Michael) Bryant of Huffman, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Emma Sue and Carson; three nieces; and dear friends.

Preceded in death by three sisters: Fern Petersen, Norma Wolfe and Wilma Wolfe; and two half brothers, George and Clarence Merrill.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with burial in Mount. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, Northeast Iowa Food Bank or Cedar Valley Hospice.
