Lucille "Jo" Brasch, 91, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Lakeview Landing.

She was born June 8, 1920, in Mitchell, South Dakota, daughter of Arthur and Ada Mensch. She married Paul R. Brasch on August 13, 1944, in the Rose Garden at Iowa State University, Ames. He died June 8, 2008.

Jo graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in home economics in 1943. She used her home economics skills throughout her life. In addition to creating a wonderful home for her family, Jo was a gardener, a seamstress and an exceptional crafts woman. She enjoyed crafting of any form. Jo was also an avid collector - her signature collection was crèches, of which she owned over 700. Jo traveled to many of the sites where the crèches were made, to collect them. Jo also was a longtime volunteer at Goodwill Industries of Iowa where she spent her time mending and refreshing donated baby dolls.

Jo's greatest enjoyment was the time she spent with family and friends. Her two daughters were her close companions throughout their lives.

Survivors include her two sons, Joel of Dunkerton and Judd (Cynthia) of Minneapolis, 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Richard Brasch; two daughters, Janeen Seehase and Jennifer Stark; and an infant son, Jim.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Visitation will be for an hour before the service at the funeral home.
