WATERLOO - Arlene L. Thomas Munger, 87, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Webster City, daughter of Fred and Gertrude Roberts Rouse. She married John Thomas on March 8, 1943, in Des Moines. He died July 16, 1967. She later married Sidney Munger on Aug. 6, 1969, in Waterloo. He died May 26, 1981.

Mrs. Munger attended Waterloo East High School. She was employed at Rath Packing Co., Ron's Super Valu, J.C. Penney and Sears.

Survived by a son, J. Craig Thomas of Waterloo; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Thomas of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Kimberly Stainbrook of Waterloo and Andy (Angela) Thomas, U.S. Army retired of North Carolina; a brother, Ward (Shirley) Rouse of Waterloo; a sister, Grace Haberer of Waterloo; and a special friend, Nancy Osgood of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by an infant son, Robert J. Thomas; a brother, Donald Rouse; and four sisters, Mary Goodwin, Catherine Wilson, Virginia Goodwin, and Elizabeth Rouse in infancy.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
