CEDAR FALLS — The Rev. Donald H. Iles, 91, of Friendship Village, Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Selby, Yorkshire, England, son of William Herbert and Emily Ellen Thursby Iles. He married Genevieve W. Ista on June 3, 1945. She died May 27, 2003.

The Rev. Iles came to the United States at the age of 15 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1948. After attending Westmar College in LeMars, he was assigned the Evangelical Church in Lansing, serving as a pastor there for seven years. He was then assigned to First Evangelical United Brethren Church (later Trinity United Methodist), Cedar Falls, where he served for 17 years. He earned a business and health services degree and was appointed administrator of the Western Home, serving 11 years.

Survived by a son, Derric (Irma) of Vermillion, S.D.; and two granddaughters, Sarah (Wil) Samson of Renton, Wash., and Maria (Nate) Borchert of Stevensville, Mont.

Family will receive friends: 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, with a 2 p.m. public Masonic service. His body has been cremated.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
