Ellen Elise “Peg” Haycraft of Waterloo, formerly of Charles City, passed away in Mesa, Arizona, on March 23, 2012, following a long illness.

Peg was born December 17, 1926, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Phillip Eugene “Gene” Haycraft November 10, 1944. They lived in Eagle Grove until moving to Charles City in 1959 where Peg worked at Citizens National Bank. After Peg retired they moved to Waterloo. They enjoyed winters in Mesa for over 20 years.

Peg loved visiting with friends and family and enjoyed church, playing cards, traveling, bowling and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and sisters, Nadine and Betty.

Peg is survived by a son, Keith (Charlotte) of Evansdale; two daughters, Sandi Bonlie of Brodhead, Wisconsin, and Ellen Conner of Waterloo; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill and Dale; one sister, Donnie; and a devoted friend, John Shaw of Waterloo.

A memorial service will be at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4031 Lafayette Road, Evansdale, on Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m.
