WATERLOO, IOWA — Loretta E. Couture, 100, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 7, 2021, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 28, 1912, in Chicopee Falls, Mass., daughter of Herbert C. and Mary B. Ellis King. She married William Ewing in 1931, and they later divorced. She married Henry Couture in 1959, and he died Nov. 24, 1998.

Mrs. Couture graduated from Chicopee Falls High School.

Loretta is survived by a son, William (Susan) Ewing of Springfield, Mass.; three daughters, Susan (Ed) Lopshire of Syracuse, Utah, Cindi (James) Wire of Waterloo and Barbara Van Halen of Westville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Lomyra Langevin; and two brothers, Ralph and Leo King.

Private family services will be at a later date, with inurnment at a later date in St. Michael Cemetery, Springfield. There will be no visitation. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
