WATERLOO, IOWA - Robert W. "Rubber" Johnston Sr., 74, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Harmony House.

He was born January 27, 1938, in rural Chickasaw County, son of Alford and Alta Wroe Johnston. He married Joyce Billington on October 17, 1959, in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.

Mr. Johnston was employed with Koehring Cranes (now Terex Corp.), Waverly, retiring in 1999.

He is survived by a son, Robert Jr. "Wayne" (Maelea D. Lee) of Evansdale; two daughters, Tiona Johnston of Waterloo and Tina (Steve) Carlson of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren, Charles and Jessica Johnston, Jessi D. Everett Johnston, Shane, Devin and Zachary Dorfman, Tabitha and Slade Carlson and Steven Carlson Jr.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
