CEDAR FALLS, IOWA — Beverly J. Purdy, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born August 8, 1929, in Ottumwa, daughter of Lloyd and June Vinyard Hall. She married Robert Purdy on September 19, 1947, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mrs. Purdy graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1947 and was employed as an administrative assistant with Viking Pump and later Pioneer Hybrid.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Jon (Jayne) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Linda (Scott) Griffen of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Jonathan Purdy, and Jed and Ben Griffen; two brothers, Lloyd (Faye) Hall of Fayetteville, N.C., and Charles Hall of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Barbara Miller of Cedar Falls and Judy Hall of Oceanside, Calif.

Bevrly was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Purdy on June 12, 1998.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls, at a later date.
