WATERLOO, IOWA — Mary Elizabeth Ziemer, 91, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, April 27, 1912 of Alzheimer’s disease and complications.

She was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Harry Gilbert Sr. and Sarah Alice Bertha Neith Rollins . She married Robert Herbert Ziemer Feb. 7, 1954, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died in 1983.

Mrs. Ziemer graduated from East High School in 1939 and worked in Washington, D.C., for a year after high school,

Survived by a son, Gilbert (Peggy) of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons; a sister, Carolyn R. Griffith of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Harry G. (Virginia) Rollins Jr. of East Alton, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Norma Walther of Cedar Falls; and a brother and sister-in-law, Max and Edith Ziemer of Detroit.

Preceded in death by a son, Gregory; and a sister, Dorothy Tucker.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with burial at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
