WATERLOO - Robert Stewart "Bob" Allen, 56, of Phoenix, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in a fire at his home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Waterloo, son of Robert LeRoy and Darlene Stewart Allen.

Mr. Allen graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1973. He moved to Phoenix more than 30 years ago and worked in construction, demolition, landscape design and building.

Survived by his mother, Darlene Stewart Allen Page of Waterloo; a sister, Lu Ann Allen (Roger) Hileman of Iowa City; a brother, Brad Lee Allen of Iowa City; and his friend, Sue Cherrier of Phoenix.

Preceded in death by his father; and stepfather, Vernie K. Page.

Celebration of Life: Sunday at Big Daddy's, Phoenix. His remains were cremated. Messinger's Funeral Home, Phoenix, handled the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice.
