HUDSON — Edward Sheronick, 91, of Hudson, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home, Reinbeck.

He was born May 30, 1920, in Arlington, son of Hessen and Minnie Melhaus Sheronick. He married Marlene Klingaman on May 31, 1947, in Waterloo.

He graduated from Orange High School in 1938. Mr. Sheronick farmed in the Hudson and Eagle Center area and also during this time drove a grain truck for Ed Franck and a school bus for Orange and Hudson schools. He was a Hudson volunteer firefighter for many years and past chair of the Agricultural Stabilization Commission. He sold the land for Country Manor Addition in Hudson and along with others developed the addition.

Survived by his wife of Hudson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Irene Werner.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Ed enjoyed traveling to visit relatives, the companionship of their little dog Katie, and his favorite pastime was visiting with the employees at Bill Colwell Ford in Hudson.
