CEDAR FALLS — Max C. Schultz, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Osage, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Sartori Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1920, in Haubstadt, Ind., son of George A. and Mathilda Rohlfing Schultz. He married Alice A. Pruessner on Sept. 6, 1948, in Kewanee, Ill. She died May 23, 2006.

Mr. Schultz was a pastor in the United Church of Christ and served churches in Chicago and Geneseo, Ill., Hebron, N.D., Detroit, Roseville, Minn., and Akron, Ohio, retiring in 1986.

Survived by three sons: Dr. Georg (Elizabeth) of St. Joseph, Mich., the Rev. James (LeeAnna) of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Paul (Dr. Denise) of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Dorothea (the Rev. Dennis) Hanson of Cedar Falls and Elizabeth (John) Kappler of Shoreville, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Valerius Schultz of Hermann, Mo.; and two sisters, Helene (the Rev. Dale) Krampe of Marthasville, Mo., and Margaret Schultz of Washington, Mo.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Osage Cemetery, Osage. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
