CEDAR FALLS — Harold K. Kienzle, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 11, 1923, in Gladbrook, son of William Jacob and Anna Katherine Kroeger Kienzle. He married Rozella Ilene Stammer on March 18, 1951, in Gladbrook. She died Sept. 6, 2011.

Mr. Kienzle was a graduate of Gladbrook High School and Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an engineer for 37 years at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Ducks Unlimited, Waterloo Technology Society, the NRA and Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma.

Survived by two sons, Douglas (Carol) of Cedar Falls and Kent (Patricia) of Rochester, Mich.; two daughters, Kristi (Jack) Keller of Casper, Wyo., and Karen Kienzle of Phoenix; six grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Justin, Seth, Justine and Marissa; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Elleanor; a stepgrandchild, John Keller; and two brothers, George (Nancy) of Iowa City and Richard (Barbara) of Duluth, Minn.

Preceded in death by a sister, Margery Goose; and a brother, William.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.

A memorial fund will be established.
