CEDAR FALLS- Harold F. Linderman, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 22, at his home

He was born August 29, 1922 in Cresco, son of Fred and Lynette P. (Wheeler) Linderman. He married Ruth M. Kreis on February 23, 1957 in Tripoli, Iowa.

He served in the United States Army during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart. He was later employed by the Waterloo School System as custodian for Edison, Black Hawk, Orange, and finally Central.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three sons, Gregory A. of Davidson, MD, Jerry L. (Belinda) of Cedar Rapids, and Larry J. Linderman, also of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Leonard Linderman of St. Augustine, FL, and Lester (Edith) Linderman of Elk Run Heights.

Preceded in death by a sister, Helen Timmerman.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, in Waterloo, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Full military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home (266-3525). Visitation also for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.
