CEDAR FALLS- Teddy Russell Smock, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of cancer.

He was born April 18, 1935 in Edgewood, the son of Ted and Pearl Thein Smock. He married Judith Hartmann on January 10, 1964 in Preston, Minnesota.

He served in the National Guard from 1953 to 1959. Ted was employed as an underground utilities locator in water and gas distribution with Cedar Falls Utilities for 44 years, retiring in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Judith of Cedar Falls; son, Monte (Nancy) Smock of Dunkerton; daughter, Lori (Mark) Dunt of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and three sisters, JoAnn (Jim) Jensen of Finchford, Vanita Shaw of Postville, and Janet Akana of California.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
