CEDAR FALLS- Eldon W. Lechner, 78, of Cedar Falls died August 30, 2009 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 6, 1931 in Canton, OH, the son of Werner and Hedwig (Schmid) Lechner. He married Janice Sears Coggins on October 10, 1991 in Las Vegas, NV.

Mr. Lechner served in the United States Army 508 Airborne from 1951 to 1953. He was employed as a Supervisor at General Motors in Euclid, OH, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; a son, Steven Lechner of Colorado; daughter, Suzanne Lechner of Willoughby, OH; and two sisters, Doris (Gale) Luyster of St. Clairsville, OH, and Eleanor Kutcher of Canton, OH.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Painter and Mildred Hein; and a brother, in infancy.

Family directed memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49.
