CEDAR FALLS — Rodger Boyd "Bud" Nagle, 71, of 4809 W. Mount Vernon Road, died in a fire at his home on Saturday, October 9, 1993.

He was born October 26, 1921, in Carpenter, son of Henry and Anna Golden Nagle. He married Edna M. Gilbert on June 6, 1944, in North Washington. She died April 4, 1990.

Rodger attended rural schools in Worth County and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a supervisor at the John Deere Tractor Works and farmed north of Cedar Falls.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce M. Fitkin of Cedar Falls; a grandson, Bradley Brown; and three sisters, Evelyn (Ambrose) Goedken of Waterloo, and Lucy (Neul) Larsen and Ena (John) Bell, both of St. Ansgar.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lee Nagle in 1970; a granddaughter, Jacki Lynn Brown; two brothers, Robert and Harold "Hod"; and a sister, Lee Tribbensee.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Cathoiic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, when the family will be present. The casket will be closed.

A memorial fund will be established.
