Wava Faith Voss, 98, formerly of Cedar Falls, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at the Waverly Health Center. She was born July 6, 1907 in Clarksville, Iowa the Frank and Charlotte (Doty) Forry.

She graduated from Clarksville High School and attended the University of Iowa. She married Reinhard C. Voss on November 10, 1929, in Clarksville. He died December 5, 1959. To this union, three children were born: Vonnelle (Sue) I. Tippett (Jim) of LaPorte City, Richard J. (Dick) Voss (deceased) and Reinhard C. (Tub) Voss (deceased).

After raising her hamily and the death of her husband, Wave took on several interests which she did for many years. She sewed and altered clothing for many people. She enjoyed creating things with her hands and could often be found sitting at her kitchen table crocheting, needle pointing, reading her bible or writing. She wroted many "letters to the editor" that were published in both the Waterloo and the Cedar Falls Record. She enjoyed watching young children and kept in touch with many of them through out their lives like Carrie and Ashley Simpson in Tennessee and Steve Foster of Jesup and Tammy Snook of Cedar Falls to name just a few. She loved gardening and always had an abundance of flowers and vegetables in the summer time.

When friends and family came to visit they would congregate in her kitchen and enjoy her cooking beneath a mural on her wall which stated "No matter where I serve my guests it seems they like my kitchen best" and that they did. She baked and decorated wedding cakes, making her children's wedding cakes and even son of her granchildren's. She traveled around the world and brought home trinkets of her travels for her friends and family to enjoy. During her later years she moved from her home in Cedar Falls to her daughter's home in LaPorte City, where she stayed for a number of years. The past two years, she has lived at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville. While live in Clarksville, she has been visited by friends and family alike and has most recently celebrated her 98th birthday there. One special friend, Harriet Forry visited with helped her several times each week which was a blessing and made life much more enjoyable for her.

Surviving is her daughter Vonnelle of LaPorte City and her twin brothers, Lester (Bob) Forry and Chester (Buster) Forry (Harriett), both of Clarksville and her daughter-in-law, Beverly Voss-Hummel of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, Kathy Miller (Greg) of Cedar Falls, Kelly Sagert of Center Point, Kim Cross (Kevin) of Cedar Falls, Janice Sells Mike of LaPorte City, Sandra Tippett of Garland, TX, and Ronald Tippett (Cindy) of Vinton; twelve great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Harriett Forry.
