Lucy was born July 27, 1912, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Emil A. and Bertha Elizabeth (Schaefer) Baumle. She died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester from complications following heart surgery.

She graduated from Burlington High School, Burlington Junior College and received her RN degree from Burlington Medical Center School of Nursing.

On October 15, 1936, she was united in marriage to A. Austin Froom in Burlington. He died January 1, 1955. She then married George P. Lund February 8, 1962 in Cedar Falls. He died October 23, 1967. He was employed at the Cedar Falls Community Schools as school nurse for 26 years, retiring in 1977 as department head.

She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Past Worthy Matron of the Cedar Falls Chapter #78 O.E.S., recipient of the Dee Carter Volunteer Red Cross Award, long time volunteer with World's Window and Western Home Auxiliary, participant of 9 medical missions to 3rd world countries, and long time board member for Black Hawk County Handicapped Children and Adults.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Emily Lyons of Des Moines; son, Charles B. Froom of Riegelsville, PA; step daughter, Tamara Pines of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Jeff (Corine) Lyons of Hiawatha, IA, Jamie Reeves of Winterset, IA and Amelia Froom of New York City, NY; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Ruth Westerman and S'Fe Baumle and brother, Charles Baumle.
