Jenifer Marie Sampson (1930-2009)

CEDAR FALLS- Jenifer Marie Sampson, 78, of Cedar Falls died Monday, July 6 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 16, 1930 in Rutland, the daughter of Leon Henry and Guinevera (Johnson) Watson. She married Thomas E. "Sam" Sampson on January 27, 1950 in Cedar Falls. He died October 26, 2001.

She graduated from Rutland High School in 1948, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1952 from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). She co-owned and operated Sampson's Card and Camera with her husband. She was past President of First United Methodist Women.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Kathleen) Sampson of Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Tomi Sue (Michael) Palmer of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Chris DeMoss, Catherine Palmer, Robert Ramirez, and Alicia Ramirez; three great-grandsons, Devin, Dylan, and Dawson DeMoss; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Zahrt of West Covina, CA; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Jean and Lyle Watson.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Richardson Funeral Home (266-3525) and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
