Phil Evan Hansen (1949-2009)

DIKE- Phil Evan Hansen, 60, of Dike died Wednesday, July 1 at his mother's home in Cedar Falls of lung cancer.

He was born April 26, 1949 in Cedar Falls, the son of George W. and Marvel Jean (Toombs) Hansen.

He graduated from Dike High School and served in the United States Navy. He earned a degree in Auto Mechanics from Hawkeye Community College and was employed by John Deery Motors for many years, in the Service Warranty department.

Survivors include his mother, Marvel Hansen of Cedar Falls; three brothers, Robert, Jon, and Jim, all of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Brenda Hansen of Dike, and Sara Stoffregen of Plainfield; and eleven nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dike United Methodist Church, followed by Full Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #471 of Dike. There will be no visitation. Richardson Funeral Home (266-3525) is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
