Genevieve Iles was born February 20, 1921, in Walcott, North Dakota, the daughter of Fred and Ella (Boyer) Ista. She died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at her home in Waterloo. She graduated from Moorehead State Teacher's College in 1943.

On June 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to Rev. Donald H. Iles in Walcott, ND. She was coordinator of volunteers in the gift shop at Sartori Memorial Hospital for ten years and also a lifelong volunteer in various capacities with the Sartori Auxiliary. She was a state officer of the United Methodist Women and currently was treasurer of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Rev. Don Iles of Waterloo; son and his wife, Derric L. and Irma Iles of Vermillion, South Dakota; two granddaughters, Sarah and Marie Iles; and niece, Debra Bakken of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Athalene Folstad.
