CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Patricia "Patsy" JoAnne Brown Miller Herbsleb, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 26, of respiratory failure.

She was born January 6, 1936, in Lenox, Iowa, daughter of Francis and Margaret Beryl (Plants) Brown. She married Blaine Miller in 1954, and they later divorced. She married Gordon Herbsleb in 1966.

Mrs. Herbsleb was a 1954 graduate of Waterloo West High School. She was employed by Dr.'s Balthazor and King, retiring after 34 years in the dental profession. She was a Life Member of the Black Hawk Dental Assistants, serving a variety of positions. She was a dedicated servant to the AMVETS Post #49 Ladies Auxiliary, holding numerous offices, including President. She also served as President of the Iowa AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary in 2005-2006. She served on the Friends Board of the Visiting Nursing Association and assisted with the Angel Auction.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon; three sons, Blaine "Frank" (Cinda) Miller of Cedar Falls, Steven R. (Cheryl) Miller of Windermere, FL, and David Herbsleb of Cedar Falls; daughter Jolaine (Gary) Lashley of West Plains, MO; stepdaughters: Cynthia (Jeff) Bond of Minnesota, and Jodi (Tim) Schaefer Texas; five grandchildren, Kelly Jo, Ben, Megan, Brad and Madisen; nine step-grandchildren, Darci, Carolyn, Cassie, Josh, Zack, Tanya, Travis, Jackie, and Annette; fifteen great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a brother, Francis "Gene" (Gloria) Brown of Ohio; and several nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by her in-laws, Ken & Kay Herbsleb; two brothers, Russell and Reldon (in infancy); two sisters Cleta Asberg and Norma Buck; her first husband; and sister-in-law, Clara Brown.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, with the 4:00 p.m. AMVETS Post 49 Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Services.

Memorials may be directed to Visiting Nursing Association, Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church or the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 Ladies Auxiliary.
