CEDAR FALLS - Anna Hippen, 99, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 18, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born March 27, 1912, in Comfrey, Minn., daughter of Lambert and Grace Van Lengen Valentien. She married Jerry H. Hippen on Dec. 21, 1940, in Estherville. He died Jan. 23, 2000.

Survived by a daughter, Angeline Ormord of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Andrew (Maria) Ormord and Amy (Scott) Smith, both of Cedar Falls; five great-grandchildren, T.J. McClain, Andy McClain, Anna Smith, Sophia Ormord and Lucas Ormord; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Nate and Brandon Smith; and a daughter-in-law, Peg Hippen of Chapin, S.C.

Preceded in death by a son, Marvin; eight brothers, Ausbrand, Ben, John, Albert, Jacobus, Jake, Dick and Henry Valentien; and two sisters, Bessie Hippen and Johanna Menken.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial fund will be established.
