WATERLOO - Jimmy A. Morris, 59, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 18, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born April 22, 1952, in Waterloo, son of James Morris and Shirley Fowlkes, and was raised by his mother and stepfather, James Lindsey. He married Mary Shirley in September 1970, and they later divorced. He later married Lori Lynn Smith on Feb. 24, 2004, in Negril, Jamaica.

Mr. Morris graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1970. He worked as a carpenter for Harting & Hunemuller for 21 years.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, April Marie (Kreg) Johnson and Kerrie Ann Webb, both of Cedar Falls; a son, Chad Allen (Amanda) Morris of Cedar Falls; two stepsons, Don (Ashley) Smith of Wichita, Kan., and Dylan Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Casey, Jaymee, Ethan and Jacob; three brothers, Terry (Pam) Morris of Waterloo, Mark (Lori) Lindsey of Evansville, Ind., and Kevin (Susie) Lindsey of Council Bluffs; and two sisters, Vickie (Dan) Goodin and Debbie (Tony) Mervin, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and an infant son, Shannon Morris.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral chapel.

Jimmy loved his family and his faithful dog, Gunnar. He enjoyed his work, golfing and was a Chicago Bears fan.
