WATERLOO — Howard Lee Jamerson, 78, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 7, in Topeka.

He was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Waterloo, son of Howard Stanley and Blanche Marcia Darsky Jamerson.

He graduated from Topeka High School in 1951. Mr. Jamerson served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring in 1975 as a Major, and having served tours to Viet Nam. He began his second career with the Topeka Police Department in 1976, and served for 25 years. He was a member of VFW Post 1650, American Legion Post 400, Disabled American Veterans, Golden Rule Lodge 90 AF&AM, and Arab Shrine.

Survived by his longtime companion, (Lue) Ann Snider of Topeka; his twin sons, Kent and Brent; two grandchildren, Renee and Dustin; and two nieces, Sarah and Gretchen Gravenstein, both of Topeka.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Public visitation after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Arab Shrine Crippled Children’s Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans.
