WASHBURN — Marlys M. Hilton, 77, of Washburn, died Thursday, March 8, at Allen Hospital.

She was born June 16, 1934, in Oelwein, daughter of Arthur and Charlene Hancock Masters. She married Donald R. “Dick” Hilton May 2, 1953, in Waterloo. He died Jan. 12, 1997.

She was employed by the Waterloo School System for more than 30 years, working as a teacher’s aide.

Survived by her mother of La Porte City; a son, Craig of Waterloo; a daughter, MeriAnn (Tim) Merrick of Washburn; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services: 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and also for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
