WATERLOO - Dorothy Spettel, 93, of Waterloo, died Monday, March 5, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born July 30, 1918, in Decorah, daughter of Elijah H. and Ella D. Donaldson Nichols. She married Earl Sanderson, and they later divorced. She then married Harvey Spettel. He died in 1983.

Mrs. Spettel was a homemaker.

Survived by a son, Woody (Judy) Sanderson of Elk Run Heights; four daughters, Ila (Delbert) Akers, Dixie (Gary) Luck, Judy Kathryn Kelley and Harvaleen (Harry Frazee) Christensen, all of Waterloo; 25 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Scarff of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the chapel.
