Helen A. Andreassen was born May 23, 1913, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence Blain and Nellie May (Eldridge) Stephens. She died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, at 87 years of age.

She married Alfred Andreassen on September 7, 1933 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1974.

She is survived by her three sons, Terry D. Andreassen of Waterloo, Larry S. Andreassen of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Donald G. Andreassen of Urbandale, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a brother, Glenn W. Stephens and four sisters, Gladys M. Johnson, Mabel Beard, Hattie Christy and Alma Dray.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001, at First Lutheran Church, with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
