WATERLOO - Ronald E. Knapp, 54, of Waterloo, died Monday, Feb. 27, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born April 1, 1957, in Waterloo, son of Fred G. and Catherine J. "Kate" Boleyn Knapp. He married Wendy S. Michels on June 16, 1984, in Waterloo.

Mr. Knapp was owner and operator of Creative Video Productions.

Survived by his wife; two sons, David Thomas (Jennie) of Tripoli and John Wesley of Waterloo; two daughters, Brooke Marie Knapp of Lakewood, Colo., and Ann Catherine Knapp of Cedar Falls; a grandson, Braiden Knapp; his parents of Evansdale; two brothers, Steve (Lori) of Waterloo and Richard of Evansdale; and a sister, Judy Smock of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Tom.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cedar Valley Community Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday, all at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ron defined authenticity. He saw right through the walls we build, straight to a person’s heart. That’s why he had a special nickname for everyone he knew. He was generous and compassionate. Forever we will treasure the sparkle in his eye, adore his sense of humor and miss his mischievous smile.
